Eyelid surgery is a procedure that makes eyes appear more youthful and awake. This popular procedure removes a small amount of fat, usually along with excess skin, from the upper and lower eyelids. The surgical process for a SwiftLift is relatively simple. The surgeon makes a small incision in the area of the temple hair, just above and in front of the ear, continuing the incision around the ear lobe and then circling the ear returning to the point of origin in the scalp. The skin is then raised outward and repositioned, then the underlying muscles and connective tissue are tightened. Some fat and any excessive skin is also removed. The incision and sutures are positioned so that they will fall in the natural creases of the skin and therefore be camouflaged.
